Chapter 6: Prepositions — In, On, At and Beyond

Prepositions are the glue of English sentences, linking nouns to the rest of the clause. Mastering in, on, and at — along with movement prepositions — is essential for natural fluency.

Prepositions of Time

Memory trick: Think of containers. in = largest container (month, year), on = flat surface (day), at = a point (specific time).

  2. On vs. in for vehicles: in a car/taxi but on a bus/train/plane
  3. Missing preposition with “home”: ❌ She went to home → ✅ She went home (no preposition needed)
