Holographic Universe & Indra's Net

Introduction: The Whole in the Part

Have you seen a Hologram? A hologram made with laser light has a fascinating feature. If you cut the photo in half, you don’t see half the picture, but the whole picture, just smaller. Even if cut again, down to a tiny fragment, it contains the information of the whole. This is the principle of “One is All, All is One”.

Core Concept: Brain and Universe are Holograms

Neuroscientist Karl Pribram and Physicist David Bohm proposed an amazing hypothesis.

  • Brain: Memory is not stored in specific brain cells, but spread throughout the brain as waves (interference patterns).
  • Universe: Space is not empty, but a Hologram Field full of information as waves. The ‘material world’ we see might be a Projection from the holographic field.

Deep Dive: Indra’s Net

In the ancient Buddhist scripture ‘Avatamsaka Sutra’ appears ‘Indra’s Net’. In Indra’s palace, there is an infinitely vast net, with a jewel at each knot. Each jewel reflects every other jewel. In one jewel, all other jewels (the entire universe) are reflected. This corresponds exactly to the principle of Non-locality in modern physics. Two separated particles are instantly connected regardless of distance (Quantum Entanglement).

Practical Application: We Are Connected

The spiritual message of this theory is clear. “Separation is an Illusion.”

  1. Others are Another Me: Hating others is like my finger hating my toe. Because the information of the whole is in each of us. Helping others is helping myself.
  2. Principle of Healing: Healing one cell (part) affects the whole body (whole). Conversely, changing my mind (whole) changes body cells (part).
  3. Infinite Potential: The information of the entire universe is inside me. We are not small humans, but the Universe itself experiencing through a body.

Conclusion: You are a Micro-Universe

“The universe is contained in a single speck of dust.” You are not a cog in the universe. All information and wisdom from the Big Bang to now is holographically etched in your being. Do not underestimate yourself. Going into your inner self is like traveling to the edge of the universe.
