Introduction to Chakras: Your Seven Inner Vortexes of Energy
Chakras: The Wheels Where Soul Energy Flows
Chakra means ‘wheel’ or ‘revolving vortex’ in Sanskrit. According to Indian yoga philosophy, there are invisible subtle energy channels (nadis) in our bodies, and seven major energy centers exist at the points where these channels meet.
These chakras are powerful switches that regulate not only our physical organs but also our emotions, psychology, and spirituality. If any part of your life is blocked, it might be a signal that the energy of the corresponding chakra is stagnant or erupting too excessively.
I. Map of the 7 Chakras
- Chakra 1 (Muladhara - Root): Near the perineum.

- When imbalanced: Anxiety, fear, greed, lack of action.
- Chakra 2 (Svadhisthana - Sacral): Lower abdomen, sacrum area.

II. Alignment and Activation of Chakras
It is not necessarily better to open chakras as much as possible. The most important thing is ‘balance.’
- The root must be strong: If survival on earth is insecure, no matter how much spiritual practice (upper chakras) you do, it becomes a castle in the sand. Start by eating well, sleeping well, and creating a safe foundation first.
- From bottom to top: Energy rises upward by receiving the energy of the earth. Only when supported by physical health (1-3) can higher-order wisdom (4-7) bloom.
III. Managing Chakras in Daily Life
- Sound Therapy: Vocalize the sounds (LAM, VAM, RAM, YAM, HAM, SHAM, OM) that resonate with each chakra.
- Color Therapy: Visualize the colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet) of the corresponding chakra or consume foods of those colors.
- Affirmation: Accompany your meditation with phrases like “I am safe (1)”, “I am loved (4)”, or “I speak my truth (5)”.
Conclusion: You are a Radiant Energy System
Chakras are not fixed but a living system that responds to your every momentary choice and emotion. Where in your body is stiff today, and what aspect of your mind is uncomfortable?
Follow your own chakra map. When you unblock what’s obstructed and make what’s stagnant flow, your life energy will rise without hesitation and guide you to your most whole and radiant state. You are already a perfect instrument containing the wisdom of the universe. Now, tune those beautiful notes.
