Reading the word is System 1 (Fast, Automatic). Identifying the color is System 2 (Slow, Effortful). The conflict causes a delay. This test measures cognitive flexibility and processing speed.

Inhibition

You have to inhibit the automatic response to give the correct answer. It requires executive control.
