What Are the Earthly Branches?

The Earthly Branches classify earth energy into 12 categories. Positioned at the bottom of the four pillars, they represent environmental, material, and subconscious energy.

If the Heavenly Stems represent consciousness and psychology, the Earthly Branches symbolize the actual environment of life, the body, and unconscious behavioral patterns.
